she was speaking of a minister and a specific sermon he gave…
He talked about how Jesus used to take a few of his most trusted friends to the Garden of Gesthemane to lay down his heart, be honest, raw and vulnerable. A
place where He felt safe to spill and be transparent. Our minister named those
friends “Garden Friends” and he went on to ask us to think about who the Garden
Friends in our life were.
so as i was reading this my wheels started turning…who would my garden friends be? who would i feel comfortable and safe enough with to bring into my garden? who do i trust with all my heart to be safe and gentle with me? do i nurture those sacred relationship and help them to grow?
so i challenge you as her post challenged me…think of who your garden friends would be…tell them how much they mean to you…nurture it, nourish it, care for it, put energy in it and watch it grow.
i have two true garden friends…and if your reading this, you know who you are…thank you for coming into my garden and letting me lay down my heart to you…for knowing when i was vulnerable…knowing when i needed to vent and when i needed a hug…thank you for being you

sounds like such a great sermon, and something everyone should really think about!!
Take Care!!
That is what we all should do. And yet so few of us do. I would like to say thank you for allowing myself back into the garden after all we have been thru. Alot of people thought we was nuts, but the joke was on them, we done did prove em’ all wrong!!!
So babe, from now till death do I part… ” I Love Ya, Forever”
I thought I had garden friends last year… this year, I’m finding new ones, but I’m afraid to say it out loud… for fear they will turn on me too.
This really makes you think and wonder who you can truly “trust”. I have always tried to remember my mom’s very wise words: “You can have tons of so called friends, but less than a handfull re really your true friends.”
Thanks for the reminder!
I so love this post…
Ummmmm, garden friends are few and far between but when you have them they are amazing. I have a couple myself 😉
Thank you for sharing Amy…
LOVE IT.
