seriously, i do…i love every single thing about loving and being loved…from the romance to the comfort and support a spouse offers. i love waking up beside him each morning and laying down beside him each night. i love that he is my best friend and knows me inside and out. i love when we can share a look or a word that no one else would understand but WE know what it means. i love how he can make me laugh more than anyone else. and i love that he “gets” me.
the Lord has really laid it on my heart lately to work on my marriage and work on myself as a wife. i was kinda searching around for a devotional for married couples and none were jumping out at me…then i came across this book…the love dare (featured in the movie fireproof).
there are some things that i really struggle with as a wife. one of them is being submissive as a wife. in Ephesians 5 it says “wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord”. i really WANT to be that wife but…it’s so hard for me to give up MY power and MY dominance…even when i know the Lord wants me to. i’m praying the love dare helps me with that…and helps me become THAT christian wife that i want to be…my heart is open and i’m ready to change.
i’m sure in the future i will be sharing little tidbits from the book here and there…and maybe the Lord will use my marriage and my struggles as a wife to help others…
Ephesians 4:2 – Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
1 Corinthians 13:7-8 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
out for now
